Register for the 2025 Small Business Summit & Expo

The DC Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2025 Small Business Summit & Expo at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on April 15, from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. This year's focus: "Small Business Resiliency During Uncertain Times." Participants will benefit from workshops on AI, procurement, marketing, mergers and more. It’s free to register, but tickets are in limited supply.

The dance scene flourishes across the District, making sure to emphasize its interconnectedness and the city’s diverse talents.

 

First Signs of Spring: Garden Prep, Soil, and Seeds

The Office of Planning (OP) kicked off the first full rewrite of the District’s Comprehensive Plan in nearly 20 years. OP is working alongside residents, community-based organizations, businesses and elected officials to develop DC 2050 which will guide where and how we build new housing, grow job opportunities, connect neighborhoods, preserve our rich history and invest in amenities. New Interactive Art Tour Pairs with Winning Haiku for a Fun New Experience in Golden Triangle 

The Golden Triangle BID launched an interactive self-guided tour (accessed through the STQRY Guide app) where tourists and locals in DC can visit different pieces of public art along the streets of downtown DC. These pieces of public art go hand in hand with the numerous haikus that were selected from the annual Golden Haiku competition, allowing these poems to become reflected in the art itself. 

 

International flight connections are about to get a little easier

Congress has authorized the Transportation Security Administration to implement the “One Stop Security” program within six airports across the U.S. This program will remove the need for returning travelers to collect and re-check their luggage, in addition to going through security upon their arrival.

 

DC selects Therme Group to build $500M wellness resort on Anacostia Waterfront 

Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and

Economic Development, alongside the help of Austria’s Therme Group, will develop a resort centered on health and wellness on Poplar Point, a 110-acreage located along Anacostia’s waterfront. This development is projected to cost $500 million and will enhance and diversify the visitor experience in DC.
